A tough loss to Trinity in the second round of the State Tournament brought the Tigers'
season to an end. Solid defense by both teams led to a 1-1 tie in the third period. The
lone Tiger goal came off the blade of Paris Murray,
finishing a pass from Jason Kelce. Trinity broke the
tie with three minutes remaining on a one-timer from the left circle. Heights' offense
went back to work and nearly drew even again, but a bad bounce off the glass set up a
Trinity breakaway and led to a third Trojan goal. They added an empty-netter with one
second on the clock. Daley Baker stopped 24 of 27 in
his 19th start in goal as a freshman. This outcome was reminiscent of the regular season
finale versus Benedictine where the score was 1-1 until the final minutes and Heights
surrendered two late goals.
