The Tigers clawed and scratched their way to a 1-1 tie against the Kent Roosevelt Rough
Riders. Kent appeared to be a step ahead of Heights in the first period, but the Tigers
proved to be tough enough to keep Kent off the scoreboard. Heights would pick up their
intensity in the second period with constant offensive pressure that finally led to the
game's first goal. Dan Cross-Call controlled the puck
in the high slot before passing to Joe Ross, who
knocked in his second of the year. After breaking the scoreless tie, the Tigers
outplayed Kent for the final half of the second period. In the third, however, Kent
quickly scored to tie the game at one apiece. For the duration of the match, the
storyline was this: Lots of scoring chances, lots of great saves. Late in the third
period and throughout the eight minute overtime, each team had numerous opportunities
to win the game, but each goaltender rose to the challenge and maintained the tie. |
