Heights dropped another important league game with a humiliating 7-2 defeat at the hands
of the St. Ignatius Wildcats. Rather than building on a strong performance in their
previous game against St. Edward, the Tigers came out flat and St. Ignatius made them
pay. Heights looked sloppy in the first period and trailed 2-0 at the first intermission.
Doug Turner registered the Tigers' first goal in the
early minutes of the second period immediately after St. Ignatius had taken a 3-0 lead.
The score held at 3-1 entering the third period when Heights' game fell apart. Goaltender
Matt Crowell faced a constant barrage of shots with
little defensive support and St. Ignatius picked up four more goals. The Tigers' sole
highlight of the third period came when Milton Carter
scored his first high school goal. |
