The Tigers played one of their stronger games of the season even though the result was a
3-2 loss to the St. Edward Eagles. The Tigers' offense kept the puck in the St. Edward
zone for long stretches of time while Heights' defense and backchecking forwards limited
a talented St. Edward offense to only 24 shots. The Tigers also did a good job staying
out of the penalty box, taking only two penalties in the entire game.
Doug Turner scored the first Heights goal in the opening
minute of the second period. With the Tigers shorthanded, Turner took a slapshot from his
own defensive zone which bounced past the St. Edward goaltender. In the third period,
just seconds after the Eagles took a 3-1 lead, Marcus
Dancy answered with his third goal of the season. The Tigers kept the pressure on,
but were unable to get the game-tying goal. |
