12/20/97 Cleveland Heights 6 - Trinity 4
For their second opponent in the Thornton Park Invitational Tournament, Heights drew
Trinity, a team the Tigers had easily defeated ten days earlier. Trinity would not be
a pushover this time around, however, as they took advantage of Heights turnovers to
lead 2-0 after the first period. In the second period, the Tigers evened the score at
two with goals by Dan Cross-Call and
Joe Ross, the first goal of the season for each.
Chuck Dancy then gave Heights a 3-2 lead, speeding
past a defenseman and beating the Trojan goalie one-on-one. The lead would not last long.
Trinity scored two goals early in the third period to once again take command of the game.
Heights came right back to tie the score as Chuck Dancy recorded his second goal of the
game off of a Trinity turnover. Lee Allen followed
with his first goal of the season to put the Tigers ahead for good.
Marcus Dancy added a breakaway goal to make the
final score 6-4.
