1/10/98 Shaker Heights 7 - Cleveland Heights 2
After a strong performance against Rocky River earlier in the week, Heights was unable
to repeat its previous level of play in an ugly loss to rival Shaker Heights. The Tigers
had problems keeping up with Shaker's offense most of the game, surrendering two goals
in each of the first two periods. The Tigers scored their only goals in the second period
when Joe Ross knocked in a rebound and
Brian Clark converted a two-on-one pass from
Sean Collins. With Heights trailing 4-2 in the
third period, the referees lost control of the game. The Tigers were called for numerous
penalties and spent the bulk of the period trying to kill them off.
Andrew Markus started in net for the Tigers,
making 32 saves while allowing five goals before leaving in the third period.
Matt Crowell finished the game, stopping seven
shots.
