Game Recaps

1/3/98   Cleveland Heights 2 - Mentor 0

For the second time in a week, Heights found themselves playing against the division rival Mentor Cardinals. And, although the game's location changed, the result didn't. The Tigers walked away from Mentor with another 2-0 shutout victory. Goaltender Andrew Markus continued his outstanding play, recording his first shutout in two years. The deciding goal was scored early in the first period with Mentor on a powerplay. Heights' defense forced a turnover in the neutral zone and sent Eddie Babcox in on a breakaway. Babcox cashed the opportunity in for his second shorthanded goal of the season. Doug Turner finished the scoring in the third period with his eighth goal of the season, a slapshot from the top of the faceoff circle.
