Recap

Heights advanced to the Baron Cup for the second year in a row, only to face an uphill battle against North Canton Hoover. The Vikings outnumbered the Tigers 17-9, but Heights refused to quit and pushed Hoover to the limit. The first period was wide open with action at both ends. Hoover scored on a powerplay in the opening minute, then Aleksi Kuuri knocked in a loose puck to tie it and Ben Urbas buried a rebound to put Heights in front. North Canton came back with a pair of goals and carried the momentum into the next period. The Vikings scored two more in the second period to go ahead 5-2, and it looked like the Tigers' short bench was wearing down. But Heights stepped up in the third period, pressuring in the offensive zone and taking 17 shots. Tyler Rudy scored on a wrist shot at the ten minute mark, then Ben Urbas picked up his second goal to make it 5-4 with just over a minute to play. Aidan Hall was pulled for a sixth attacker, but the Tigers could not get the equalizer, and their impressive effort came up short. Hall finished with 33 saves as the Tigers' eight-game winning streak came to an end.
