The Tigers' season ended with a loss to Kent Roosevelt in the State Tournament. Heights
didn't look nearly as sharp as they had for most of the Gilmour Tournament, just one week
earlier. Kent scored twice in the first period, including a shorthanded goal, as the
Tigers could not control the puck in the defensive zone. After a scoreless second period,
Heights finally got some momentum in the third. An outstanding individual effort by
Jeff Houser got the Tigers on the scoreboard and gave
the team new life. Heights had plenty of chances to tie the game, but they couldn't
convert. After a few minutes of offensive pressure by the Tigers, Kent took advantage of
a defensive mistake and scored their third goal to end Heights' hopes for a comeback. |
