The top teams in the Blue East faced off when the division-leading Tigers met the number two CVCA Royals. Heights took control early and built a big lead in the second period, before CVCA rallied to make it a nail-biter in the third. Five minutes into the game, the Tigers were up 2-0 behind goals from Trey Hopkins and Ben Urbas. Urbas was just getting started. He scored two more in the second period, while Tyler Rudy and Ian Kraus each added one. CVCA also scored twice in the period and Heights had a 6-2 lead after two. With a big lead, the Tigers might've thought the game was out of reach, but the Royals stormed back with a three-goal third period and it was suddenly 6-5. Aidan Hall and the defense held CVCA back for the final three minutes and Ben Urbas scored his fourth of the game into an empty net to make it a 7-5 final. Hall finished with 26 saves. |
