The Tigers used special teams and a commanding second period to put away the Nordonia Knights in a 5-2 victory. Tyler Rudy got Heights on the board with a breakaway goal in the first, and the second period began with the score tied at one. Jordan Shoger broke the tie with a shorthanded goal on a laser from the top of the faceoff circle. Zack Murray followed two minutes later with a powerplay goal, then Tyler Rudy converted another powerplay for his second goal of the game. The Tigers outshot the Knights 16-6 in the period, although Nordonia inched closer with a goal in the final minute. Heights shut the door in the third and Jordan Shoger added another shorthanded goal on an empty-netter from deep in his own zone. Liam Robinson totaled 19 saves in his sixth win. |
