In game three of the Thanksgiving tournament, Heights battled the Medina Bees but came up
just short. Earlier in the afternoon, six powerplay goals propelled the Tigers to a big
win. They only got two powerplay chances against Medina and goals were hard to come by.
Sam Lauritzen scored in the first period.
Martin Birk buried the puck in the second period for his
first goal on American ice. Heights made few glaring mistakes on defense and only allowed
20 shots, but coverage in front of the net was a problem. All three Medina goals came off
rebounds in the slot.
