The second day of the Thanksgiving tournament matched Heights against the Buccaneers, a
club team based in Rocky River. The first period was even and Rocky River took the lead
in the second, but penalties changed the course of the game. The Buccaneers were whistled
10 times in the second period and the Tigers scored four with the man advantage.
Brad Shoger scored halfway through the period to tie it
at one. Then Heights buried three more in the two minutes before intermission.
Alex Kraus had a pair and
Trevor Plunkett cleaned up a loose puck for his first
high school goal. The third period brought more special-teams action.
Paris Murray recorded both a powerplay goal and a
shorthanded goal. Jordan Shoger also notched his first
career goal, bringing the total number of powerplay goals to six. Freshman
Liam Robinson got his first start between the pipes and
ended up with his first win after making 26 saves.
