The Tigers battled to a 2-2 tie with the Rocky River Pirates in the final home game of
the year. Heights took the lead twice, but Rocky River answered both times and the game
was even throughout. Jason Kelce scored his 16th goal
to make it 1-0 in the first period. Rocky River tied it on a powerplay in the second.
Dee Samuel's team-leading 23rd goal put the Tigers back
on top in the third, but the Pirates came back three minutes later. The action moved to
overtime, with both teams noticeably tired. Heights still came up with some quality
scoring chances but just couldn't put them away.
Daley Baker finished with 27 saves in the team's second
tie of the season.
