The Tigers lost 4-0 in round two of the Thornton Tournament despite an improved effort
from their previous two games. Heights couldn't get anything going on offense in the
opening round against St. Ignatius. That was not the case against Mentor. The Tigers
had many good scoring opportunities but couldn't put the puck away. Mentor finished
with a slim 25-24 advantage in shots, but the Cardinals made their scoring chances
count. Special teams play was the biggest difference between the two teams. Mentor
scored twice with the man-advantage and once while shorthanded.
John Mates made 21 saves in the loss.
