The Tigers let penalties get the better of them in a 6-3 loss to the Rocky River Pirates.
Heights took eight penalties and Rocky River took advantage, scoring four powerplay goals.
The Tigers actually jumped to a 3-2 lead early in the third period.
Paris Murray capped a breakaway with his ninth goal of
the season to take the lead, just two minutes after he had set up
Josh Janor's sixth goal to tie the game. However, the
Pirates came back to score four unanswered goals, including an empty-netter.
Nick Schmidt started in net and played well, with 26
saves, but he didn't get a lot of breaks. Rocky River scored twice on deflected shots
through traffic, and once on a centering pass that bounced in off of a Heights
defenseman. Dee Samuel also scored for the Tigers, his
fifth on the year.
