Heights fell to 0-2 in league play by losing their home opener 6-3 against Mentor. The
Tigers gave up too much ground in the defensive zone as unmarked Cardinals routinely
scored on rebounds and redirections. Josh Janor's
third goal of the season put Heights on the board in the second period. Freshman
Paris Murray notched the other two Tiger goals,
moving him into the team lead with six. Although Murray scored a powerplay goal, the
man advantage continues to be a major weakness for the Tigers. Heights allowed a
short-handed goal, their third in the last two games, while the powerplay unit often
failed to gain control in the offensive zone.
