The Tigers opened the league schedule with their first visit to the new rink in
Strongsville, home of the Hudson Explorers. The game certainly began nicely, as Heights
took an early 2-0 lead with goals by Jason Kelce and
Paris Murray. After the fast start, however, Heights'
misplays would tilt the ice in Hudson's favor. The Explorers scored the game's final
five goals, three of them coming as the direct result of Heights' turnovers in the
defensive zone. John Mates stopped 20 shots, but the
loss dropped his record to 2-1. Kelce now leads the Tigers with five goals, while Murray
is next with four.
