The second meeting of the season against Kent Roosevelt brought a welcome change for
Heights. For the first time in eight games, every member of the team was healthy and
in uniform. Kent entered this contest with a troubling streak of their own: ten
consecutive losses. The Tigers pushed that streak to eleven with a 6-1 victory. Heights
played a solid defensive game, holding Kent to the perimeter of the offensive zone and
allowing very few scoring chances. The Tigers finished with a 34-22 advantage in shots
and Ben Gaglioti made 21 saves. Offensively, Heights
led 4-0 before Kent got on the scoreboard late in the second period.
Nate Hall and
Jeff Houser put the Tigers ahead 2-0 in the first
period. Chris Matthews and
Ben Winger each scored in the second. Leading 4-1
after two periods, Heights kept up the offensive pressure.
John Sharpe expanded the lead to four, and senior
defenseman Sam Keller finished things off, ripping a
shot through traffic for his first career goal.
