The 2000-2001 season marks Kirk Guenther's fifth year behind the bench as the Tigers'
head coach. After serving as an assistant coach under John Malloy, Kirk took over the
lead role before the 1996-97 season. In his first year as head coach, he led the Tigers
to a 9-4 league record and the championship of the Red South Division. In the 1997-98
season, Kirk's Tigers finished with a 6-6-1 league record and a share of the Red South
Division crown. Kirk was a standout center during his high school hockey career at
Heights from 1987 through 1990, which included a state championship in 1987. After
graduating from Heights, Kirk attended Kent State University. |
