The Tigers fought back from a late deficit only to have their season come to an end
in overtime against Gilmour. Heights played seemingly without passion until the latter
half of the third period while Gilmour moved to a 2-0 advantage on back-to-back
powerplay goals in the second period. Finally skating with a sense of urgency in the
third period, the Tigers started to control the action. With four minutes remaining
in the game, Joe Ross scored on a rebound and Heights
was on the board. The Tigers went to a sixth attacker in the final minutes and
maintained the pressure on Gilmour's defense. After the team missed some very good
scoring chances, Ross knocked in his second goal of the game to tie the score with
eleven seconds on the clock. As the two teams moved to overtime, Heights remained in
command. The puck rarely left the Gilmour zone through about five and a half minutes
of extra time. Unfortunately, on one of the few occasions that the Lancers were able
to get through the Tigers' forecheck, they moved down ice and scored the game-winner
on a slapshot from the right faceoff circle.
