Heights finished the Thornton Park Tournament in remarkable fashion, surrendering a
four goal lead and losing to Bowling Green. Everything went the Tigers' way in the
first period. Andrew West,
Carl Rose, Jeff Houser,
and Ben Winger each scored to give Heights a 4-0
lead by intermission. With such a large advantage, the Tigers abandoned their
offensive game plan in the second period. Heights lost all momentum and Bowling Green
responded with three goals in the latter half of the period. Both teams had scoring
chances in the third, but only Bowling Green could capitalize. The Bobcats got the
tying goal on a 2-on-0 breakaway with four minutes left on the clock, and then won
the game with a powerplay goal less than two minutes later.
